046The Varsity Lions traveled to Austin Indiana this afternoon to challenge the Eagles in their 8th game of this soccer season. The Eagles played well, but ultimately came up short in a 10-0 loss against the Lions.

Ronald Karenzi (#3) and Gedeon Nzombi (#17) led the team to victory scoring 4 goals each. Also, scoring for the Lions was Will Brown (#2) with 1 goal and 4 assists and Johnny Weirs (#18) with 1 goal in the second half. A special congratulations is extended to Johnny Weirs as his goal this evening marks his very first goal of his high school soccer career!

“The boys came together and worked hard. They spread out, made good passes and took clean shots on goal.”, said Coach Chris Brown

While the scheduled teams have promised to be a difficult line up for the Lions, they have managed to secure a fantastic 6 -1- 1 record this season with 8 games remaining. Tomorrow the Lions take on CAI in what promises to be a great game against two competitive rivals.
