Congratulations you finally made it to your High School graduation. You walked across the stage, accepted your diploma and shook hands with your principal for the last time. So now what??

Many students know what they want to do with their lives from an early age, others however, are not quite sure where they plan to leave their mark. Regardless of what your plans are, you most likely will be heading toward higher education of some kind. At Rock Creek Community Academy we want to help you succeed even after you depart from our halls.

A successful and rewarding college/higher educational experience requires a bit of planning early on. Below we have put together some links to great College planning sites. The fine folks at CollegePrep101 have laid out a useful road map for those planning on continuing their education beyond High School. The guides are broken down into all the steps that can be taken throughout your school career to help you better prepare for further studies.

After you have looked through the Comprehensive College Planning Checklist take some time to view the other resources that our team has assembled.

It is critical that as a High School student, you understand that life does not begin when you receive your high school diploma or when you graduate from college. These events are just milestones and they are evidence that your life has in fact, already begun. Before you’re knee-deep into the process of selecting and visiting the universities that you are interested in attending, sit down and chart out your life course. It sounds tedious, but it is the only way that you can ensure that you are headed in the direction of your goals.

Keep your big-picture dreams in mind when charting out your smaller and more immediate goals. This vision is made up of thousands of smaller goals. You can typically assume that if you want to succeed at bringing the larger picture into focus, it will take years of achieving smaller goals to make this happen.

At Rock Creek Community Academy we want to help you realize your dreams. Please use the resources provided and feel free to contact us to schedule a time to me with our team and discuss how we can help you reach your goals.
